Future Leaders Lab

Find your voice. Build your community.

Students explore different ways to lead, learn how communities make decisions, and build a digital project around an idea they care about — then turn it into a bill to present and vote on with their peers.

  • Discover their leadership style
  • Create a digital project
  • Write and present a bill
  • Vote with their peers

Ideas focus on students’ own school and community. Everything is nonpartisan.

Upstanders Lab

Find what matters. Stand up. Take action.

Students discover the issues they care about, learn what it means to be an upstander, research a real-world challenge, and create a project that helps others see why it matters — reflecting along the way on the people who serve their communities and country.

  • Discover what matters to them
  • Find their upstander strengths
  • Research a real-world issue
  • Create a project that inspires action

For families

Good to know

Who can come?

Any child in 3rd or 4th grade this school year — from any public, charter, private, or home school.

What does it cost?

Nothing. Both camps are free, including lunch and a snack.

How many spots are there?

Twenty per camp, filled first come, first served. Once a camp is full, new registrations go on its waitlist, and we’ll contact you if a spot opens. If both camps fill, waitlisted families will be the first to hear about our next camp.

Can my child attend both?

We want as many children as possible to get a day with us, so every child is first guaranteed a spot at one camp. Register for the one your child is most excited about.

Want the other day too? Register for it as well. Your child will be placed on its waitlist, and any seats left after first-time campers are offered to them.

What about allergies or dietary needs?

Tell us on the registration form. We can accommodate most needs; if we can’t safely meet one, we’ll contact you before camp and ask you to send food from home. It never affects your child’s spot.

When and where, exactly?

Both camps run 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM on Belmont University’s campus in Nashville. We’ll email registered families the building, parking, drop-off, and pick-up details before camp.
